Starting Art Psychotherapy

Initial Steps

For Adults: Initially we can arrange a free 45 minute online consultation. If you then decide you would like to try a one off in-person or online session we will arrange this together and it will be charged at the session rate. If you then decide you would like to start a course of therapy I will send you an Art Therapy Information Form, a Contract & Consent Form and Personal Details Form to read, sign and fill in, after which we would begin in-person or online for an agreed short term period - I usually recommend 6 sessions - after which we can review if we should continue for a longer term.

For Children and Adolescents: As the parent or carer we can arrange a free 45 minute online or in-person Parent/s/Carer Consultation together without your child. If you would then like to proceed I offer a 50 minute Initial Child/Adolescent Session (in-person or online, depending on the agreed therapy provision mode) which would be charged at the session rate. If myself and your child are happy to proceed on to therapy I would send you an Art Therapy Information Form (parent/carer and child versions), a Parent/Carer Consent Form, a Contract and Personal Details Form to read, sign and fill in. We can then begin a short period of therapy - I usually recommend six sessions which can be a sufficient amount of time to decide whether myself and your child can form a positive therapeutic relationship.  We can then meet for a 50 minute online Parent Review at ‎£40 or a 50 minute in-person meeting charged at ‎£50 to decide whether an ongoing course of therapy would be helpful for your child. Therapy for children is most successful when there is greater parent/carer involvement and so Periodic Parental Consultation Sessions can also be an option and discussed.

If you would like to discuss any questions you might have regarding starting therapy for yourself or for someone else or you wish to arrange an online consultation, please fill in the Enquiry Form below;
